After staging two small-sided fixtures against Huddersfield Town last week, Chris Wilder’s side will meet their neighbours from East Yorkshire in the penultimate warm-up match today before June 17th’s visit to Aston Villa.

United’s warm-up schedule is expected to conclude when they face Barnsley later this week.

Although the clash with Town was designed to be a gentle introduction back into the competitive environment following a three month break, Wilder is likely to expose his players to greater physical stress against City.

United, who were seventh in the table when the season was suspended in March because of the Covid-19 pandemic, will climb to fifth with nine outings remaining if they win in they beat Villa in the West Midlands.
