Sheffield United drawn against Exeter City in second round of worldwide FIFA QuaranTeam competition

The second round of the FIFA-based QuaranTeam competition has been made, with Sheffield United's representative being paired with one from League Two high-flyers Exeter City.

United eased their way through the first round with a 3-0 win over Carlisle United, with the club's representative, Mitch Hayward, earning the Blades a place in the second round draw courtesy of goals from Luke Freeman, Billy Sharp, and John Lundstram.

Exeter, who are represented by gaming pro Jack Carmody, breezed into the second round with a 2-0 away win against Peterborough United.

Meanwhile, United fans hoping for a clash against Sheffield Wednesday this season still have hope, after the Owls were drawn against Dutch side FC Groningen.

There’s a serious cause behind all this, as 75% of everything raised by the competition organisers will go to EFL clubs struggling with the loss of matchday revenue in this difficult time. 25% will be split between MIND and the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fundraiser.
