Sheffield United’s opponents in the League One play-offs have seen their preparations for Friday’s semi-final first leg at Bramall Lane hampered by injuries to a host of key names, writes James Shield.

Gary Johnson, the Yeovil Town manager, confirmed last night that centre-halves Byron Webster and Dan Burn are among those who could miss the visit to South Yorkshire.

Fellow defender Nathan Ralph is also a doubt after sustaining a knee problem while midfielder Matthew Dolan is receiving treatment for a similar complaint.

Johnson, admitting it was too early to predict whether the influential quartet will be passed fit to face Chris Morgan’s side, said: “Every day is going to be different. I’m going to say that if they’re a little bit nearer tomorrow I’ll be happy.”

Webster, previously of Doncaster Rovers, featured in both of Yeovil’s meetings with United during the regular season. He missed last weekend’s defeat by Bury due to a tweaked hamstring while Burn, on loan from Fulham, has returned to his parent club for treatment on damaged ankle ligaments.
