Jake Wright, Bryan’s team mate at United, spent the first five months of the campaign with Keith Hill’s side before returning to South Yorkshire during the transfer window.

With Panagiotis Retsos set to agree a temporary transfer of his own to Chris Wilder’s side - the defender currently represents Bayer Leverkusen - Wright could also leave United before tomorrow night’s deadline.

Wilder’s employers are also applying the finish touches to deals for Genk midfielder Sander Berge and Dutch centre-forward Richairo Zivkovic of Changchun Yatai, of the Chinese second tier.
