Deadline day is over... is this the best Blades XI?

Is this now Sheffield United's strongest starting XI after close of transfer window?

The transfer window has closed, with Chris Wilder admitting early on on deadline day that he was going to go until January with what he has already available to him.

Two huge battles about to face Wilder’s team

Earlier this week, when he enjoyed a rare moment of downtime ahead of Sunday’s match against Fulham, Chris Wilder travelled across the Pennines for a routine health check organised by the League Managers’ Association.

10 minutes to deadline...

Although, as far as United are concerned, the deadline might as well have been 5am since Chris Wilder told us this morning that United wouldn’t do any business today.

Some thought he may have been bluffing, but it certainly doesn’t look like that at this stage and so United will go with the group they currently have… until the January window at least, when all the fun starts again!

Would you start Rhian Brewster against Fulham?

Fulham have been dealt an injury blow ahead of their match against United on Sunday.

New signing Joachim Anderson has picked up an injury and is out for ‘some weeks’ revealed boss Scott Parker in today’s press conference.

“We’ve had some pretty bad news with Andersen, who’s obviously only just come into the football club,” Parker said. “He’s damaged his ankle in training so he’ll be out for the foreseeable future.

“I wouldn’t want to put an actual timescale on it but it’s going to be some weeks. It’s disappointing of course, because we had him for two days, we saw his quality, but we’re going to be without him now for a little time.

“Hopefully we’ll get him right, get him rehabbed, and get him back as part of the team.”

After Chris Wilder’s comments about halting international football at the minute, we ran a snap poll on Twitter to see if you agreed with him…

…and 94.7 per cent of voters did, which seems pretty conclusive to me

The pandemic has affected things in terms of getting documents through, translated and all that. Hopefully, things are moving on now, and we can get that sorted soon.
