SHEFFIELD United could be forced to take maximum points between now and the end of the season in order to secure automatic promotion, manager Danny Wilson has warned.

The South Yorkshire club are second in the League One table with only six games remaining ahead of tomorrow’s visit of Bournemouth.

And Wilson said: “There are half a dozen matches left and we could possibly have to win every single one of them.

“If that’s what we have to do then that’s what we have to do.

“We’re taking nothing for granted and we always treat our opponents with the utmost respect.

“But that’s what we’re trying to do anyway.”

Wilson added: “The next one is always the most important and that’s Bournemouth.

“We are looking no further ahead than that.

“Doing anything else would be a mistake.”
