Sheffield United could be about to miss out on one of their summer transfer targets.
Southampton's Sam Gallagher is of interest to Stoke City manager Gary Rowett, who is readying a £7million bid for the striker according to The Sun.
Gallagher, who spent last season on loan with Birmingham City, has been linked with a loan move to the Blades and Aston Villa.
United boss Chris Wilder told the Star earlier in the transfer window that he wanted to sign quality players with Championship experience and the 22-year-old does fit the bill after spending the last three years with the Blues, Blackburn Rovers and MK Dons.
In total, Gallagher has 89 Championship appearances but has fallen down the pecking order at St Mary's.
