Wilder has been recognised after guiding the Blades to a 3-0 win over Burnley at Bramall Lane and eye-catching draws against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.

The impressive performances propelled United up to fifth place as they consolidated their impressive start to a first season back in the Premier League after a 12-year absence.

He provided assists in all three goals in the victory over Burnley and impressed in the Blades’ deserved 1-1 draw at Spurs.

The French striker also caught the eye in front of the Sky Sports cameras, delightfully curling home past David De Gea in a six-goal thriller with Manchester United at Bramall Lane.

Mousset is one of seven players to be shortlised for the award, which also includes Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur), Jamie Vardy (Leicester City), Raul Jimenez (Wolves), Sadio Mane (Liverpool), Son Heung-Min (Tottenham Hotspur), and Caglar Soyuncu (Leicester City).
