Sheffield United have confirmed the signings of Andy Butler and Chris Basham.

As The Star revealed earlier today, manager Nigel Clough added Basham to his list of targets after learning the midfielder was destined to leave Blackpool during the close season.

Butler, the former Huddersfield Town and Scunthorpe centre-half, rejected to chance to stay at Walsall in order to complete his move to Bramall Lane.

Butler, aged 30, has agreed a two year contract with United while Basham, 25, is scheduled to remain in South Yorkshire until 2017.
