John Brayford last night revealed why he believes Nigel Clough will lead Sheffield United to promotion, writes James Shield.
Brayford, who joined the League One club from Cardiff City earlier this year, heaped praise on the manager’s qualities ahead of tonight’s game at Walsall.
United are fifth in the table but without a win in four games following Saturday’s draw at Scunthorpe.
Brayford told The Star: “You get difficulties in football, you get problems in life. It’s how you react that counts.
“It’s in our hands and we know what we’ve got to do. Sometimes things don’t go to plan. but, over the long stint, if you carry on and carry on then you’ll get there.
“He’s got a good attitude about the place and so, if you do that, your football ability shines through.”
Brayford added: “There are like-minded people here. I spoke about that when I came back.
“And that’s the type of person the gaffer brings in. Good characters.
“Don’t get me wrong, sometimes people get the better of you, but if you’ve got that determination, your ability will eventually shine through.”
