Alongside trying to strengthen their squad ahead of tonight’s 11pm transfer deadline, Sheffield United also have three points to fight for on the pitch this evening.
The Blades welcome Bolton Wanderers to Bramall Lane with the ambition of securing their first Championship victory of the season after playing out a third successive draw at the weekend, a 2-2 stalemate with Cardiff City at the Cardiff City Stadium.
United were second best for long spells of the contest in the Welsh capital but did just enough to hold on and return to Sheffield with a point in the bag, preserving their unbeaten start to the season in both league and cup competitions.
With Callum O’Hare poised to seal a deadline day move to Wrexham, his place in the team will need to be filled against Wanderers, who have won just one of their opening three matches this term. Ahead of tonight’s S2 clash, The Star has had a stab at predicting the team Blades chief Chris Wilder might pick.

5. LB: Sam McCallum

6. RM: Romelle Donovan
Brentford loanee Donovan is expected to make a third successive start for the Blades this evening. After scoring against Blackburn Rovers in the Carabao Cup last Tuesday night, he kept his place in the starting XI on Saturday. 7. CM: Sydie Peck
Amid a flurry of big-name exits from Bramall Lane this summer, Peck looks set to stay in S2 beyond the transfer deadline. He is a key figure in Wilder's plans, and the Blades chief will be counting on him to continue improving this season. 8. CM: Kalvin Phillips
After appearing as a substitute in each of the Blades’ last two matches, Phillips might now be deemed fit enough to start for the first time since returning to the club last month. The midfield enforcer was introduced at half-time against Cardiff, meaning he got some valuable minutes under his belt. Once he is fully up to speed, he is expected to be a key player for the team this season.
