Uwe Rosler, the Leeds manager, has confirmed Sheffield United and Wigan Athletic are both monitoring Billy Sharp, writes James Shield.
But Rosler warned the League One rivals that other, as yet unnamed clubs, are also watching the centre-forward.
“There is some interest there, “Rosler said. “Not only from the clubs who are mentioned but also from other clubs.
“There’s interest in one or two players but they’re Leeds United players and they’re showing a great attitude. I’m happy with every player I have in my squad.
He (Sharp) has a lot of experience. He’s a proven goalscorer and we have a number of strikers.”
Sharp started his career at Bramall Lane before returning for a second spell eight years ago. He has previously worked with new United manager Nigel Adkins at both Southampton and Scunthorpe.
“He’s under contract with us,” Rosler added. “When other clubs are interested in players they talk to (owner Massimo) Cellino.
“Then we’ll see if it’s possible or not possible to keep them or let them go.”
