They’re fifth in the table after back-to-back derby wins over Barnsley and Doncaster Rovers. So, can Sheffield United complete an unprecedented double this season by winning two trophies - the League One play-offs and a prestigious BAFTA Television Award?
Okay, United boss Nigel Clough won’t exactly have to dust off his dinner jackets for the glitzy ceremony, and rub shoulders with the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch and Sheridan Smith.
In fact, it’s the Sunset + Vine/BT Sport 1 production team who are up for the BAFTA, in the ‘Sport and Live Event’ category for 2015, for their work on United’s thrilling FA Cup semi-final defeat to Hull City last season.
The match at Wembley - which finished 5-3 to Premier League side Hull, and ended United’s brave run to the last four - contained more drama in 90 minutes than an entire series of Downton Abbey, so the nomination comes as no surprise.
And if it beats off strong competition from the likes of Monty Python, the Tour de France and ‘WW1 Remembered’, it may not be the only trophy Clough and Co. have a hand in winning this season.
