The Blades are backing Hallam FM’s Cash for Kids, and their Mission Christmas campaign. United supporters are being asked to support the club’s nominated charity for this festive season.

This Sunday’s fixture against Manchester United is also United’s designated ‘Mission Christmas’ game, where volunteers from ‘Cash for Kids’ will be collecting donations on the day around the ground.

The club are also collecting new and unwrapped gift donations at the Blades Superstore and Copthorne Hotel from now until Sunday, and at the Blades Family Hub on Sunday only.

“We are asking Blades fans where possible to help us in donating new and unwrapped toys and gifts for children of all age groups, helping local children ensure they get a visit from Santa this year,” said United skipper Billy Sharp.

“United players, coaches and football management are all behind the campaign and are asking fans to support generously this Christmas, where possible.”

Allan Ogle, charity manager for Cash for Kids, added: “I’m incredibly grateful to both Sheffield United and Manchester United fans for getting involved with Mission Christmas either by bringing a gift to the game or donating to our volunteers outside the ground before the game.

“What a fantastic way to not only celebrate a fantastic Premier League fixture, but help put smiles on children’s faces on Christmas Day too.”
