Sheffield United could be without defenders Matt Hill and Bob Harris for the fifth League One match running when they entertain third-placed Leyton Orient this weekend.
Hill and Harris are still recovering from hamstring and thigh injuries respectively, problems which they sustained in the goalless draw at Preston North End last month.
When asked about the duo following their midweek draw with Brentford, United boss Nigel Clough said: “I’m not sure whether they will be ready for Saturday. It might be a bit too soon. We will see how they are over the next couple of days.”
Since their 10-match winning run was halted at Preston, United have only won one of their last five league matches.
But Clough, who is looking to extend Kieron Freeman’s loan deal, which runs out following Saturday’s Bramall Lane date with Orient, claims the point they secured versus the Bees illustrates how far they have come under his leadership.
“We would have lost that game a few months ago, but now we are capable of digging in, staying resolute and grinding out results, even against the better teams,” said Clough, who has not ruled out mid-table United gatecrashing the top-six.
