SHEFFIELD United striker Ched Evans has been named npower League 1 Player of the Month for March.
He struck 10 times in eight games last month, including his first ever senior hat-trick in a 4-1 win at Chesterfield.
Blades boss Danny Wilson said: “Ched deserves his award. He has worked very hard all season and that work has really paid off.
“I think he’s been unplayable at times this season. I know for sure I wouldn’t want to be a defender up against him given the form he is in.”
Sky Sports’ Football League expert Peter Beagrie sits on the npower Player of the Month judging panel.
He said: “In the month of March, the Evans opened and it rained goals for Blades hitman Ched.
“Ten goals in eight games kept United hot on the tails of Charlton and two points ahead of Wednesday in the battle for automatic promotion.”
npower Head of Sponsorship Emma Collins said: “Ched has scored goals consistently this season and March was another great month for him.
“His strikes have won plenty ofs points for Danny Wilson’s side and I’m sure he’ll play a key part as they look to gain promotion to the npower Championship.
“On behalf of npower, I’d like to congratulate Ched, and wish him the best of luck for the rest of the season.”
Sheffield Wednesday boss Dave Jones is celebrating his first month in charge after being named the npower League One Manager of the Month for March.
He led the Owls to an unbeaten month with five wins and two draws from seven fixtures.
In the npower Championship, Reading boss Brian McDermott was named npower Manager of the Month and Nottingham Forest winger Garath McCleary picked up the npower Player of the Month Award.
The npower League 2 Manager of the Month Award went to Torquay United boss Martin Ling. Torquay United midfielder Lee Mansell won the npower Player of the Month Award in npower League 2.
