Marlon King is expected to make his Sheffield United debut against Preston North End after joining David Weir’s side.

The former Birmingham City, Watford and Wigan Athletic centre-forward has agreed to stay at Bramall Lane until the end of the season after resuming training at the Redtooth Academy.

United declined an opportunity to sign King before last weekend’s League One defeat by Carlisle but the 33-year-old was subsequently invited back to South Yorkshire.

Weir is poised to include him in the squad which entertains Simon Grayson’s side on Saturday.
