Sheffield United's long-running pursuit of Billy Sharp gathered pace today as the striker was sent home from a pre-season training camp by current club Leeds United.

The former Blade, who has already had two spells at Bramall Lane having begun his career there as a youth, and then resigning for his boyhood side and in 2007, had been in Austria with Leeds but didn't play a part in their game against Frankfurt on Tuesday.

Boss Uwe Rosler admitted that Sharp had just been left out of the team and had no injury problems.

Talks had been ongoing between the Blades and their West Yorkshire counterparts and Sharp's agent and the player's return home would indicate that an agreement has been reached between all parties.
