Sheffield United transfer news: Blades battle West Brom for intriguing striker deal as Ravel Morrison nears Championship move

Sheffield United travel to Fulham on Saturday evening in a massive Premier League relegation clash.

Chris Wilder’s men, who still retain some hope of pulling off the impossible and surviving in the top-flight, face the division’s 18th place side at Craven Cottage.

Anything other than a victory and you feel the Blades’ slim chances of staying up will become all-but crushed ahead of the final 13 matches.

Despite the main focus being on this weekend’s encounter, there has been some transfer gossip doing the rounds over the last 24 hours.

And that comes in the form of Rhys Healey, the Manchester-born striker who moved to French side Toulouse last summer.

According to TEAMTalk, Sheffield United are one of several English clubs – including West Brom, Middlesbrough, Norwich City and Bournemouth – keeping tabs on his progress.

Healey’s form since moving to Ligue 2 from MK Dons has rocketed. He’s scored nine goals in 19 games – including a run of seven in six – with the French outfit second in the league table.

The 26-year-old, when on the books at Cardiff City, had loan spells at Colchester United, Newport County, Torquay United and MK Dons before joining the latter permanently.

He remains relatively untested at Premier League and Championship level but could now be offered the chance to prove himself, if his reported £5million price tag is met.

Meanwhile, former Blades midfielder Ravel Morrison is nearing a move to Huddersfield Town.

The former Manchester United talent initially joined ADO Den Haag following his release from Bramall Lane but saw his contract terminated last month.

The Sun’s transfer guru Alan Nixon has claimed the Terriers are looking to bring in the 28-year-old to check his fitness and other relevant details.
