Blades v Baggies, LIVE from Bramall Lane

  • Blades can go within a point of relegation rivals with victory at Bramall Lane
  • United make two changes, with Sharp and McGoldrick replacing Brewster and Burke
  • Matt Phillips put WBA ahead just before half time
  • Jayden Bogle equalised for the Blades
  • Billy Sharp then put the Blades ahead in the second half

"There's still a long way to go, and I'm not getting carried away at all.

"We have a huge challenge in front of us still. Next up, Chelsea!

“Whoever you play, it's incredibly challenging and you have to face that. But as I've said, and as other managers have said about us, we're alive and fighting and that's all we can do. We'll try and do that again at the weekend.”

Wilder: We were too slow in first half

People talk about possession and dominating the game but we never really hurt them. We were too slow, not ambitious, careless in the final bit. Bravery is often defined in different ways and for me, we had to be braver in possession. More care-free, more risky. That's what this league is and we were second half, you saw it. The team was so much braver second half, we passed out from the back and played through Egan. Lowe and Bogle gave us energy going forward and we had a threat at the top of the pitch, which let us dictate and build pressure and ultimately get the win that I believe we deserved.

Wilder on Aaron Ramsdale’s save

It was a big moment in the game, we were front foot in the second half and looked like we wanted to win the game. Off the back of that it's still the Premier League and they've whipped a ball in, it's a fabulous save and we talk about big moments. Sometimes it's the other way, a block or a save, and we haven't produced enough of them this year. So it's brilliant for him and gave us an opportunity to win the game.

Chris Wilder’s post-match reaction

"I thought we had a lot of the ball in the first half and didn't do much with it," Wilder said. "So at half time there was a bit of a reaction from me. We needed to be more ambitious and more like us, and I'm delighted with the win."

Allardyce: We gifted Blades a goal

We've got to cope with it in the second half. If Sheffield United are going to score it'd have to be a really good goal, I've said before don't gift a goal. We could have dealt with both a lot better. The second goal is very disappointing because we had enough bodies in and around the area for them not to get a shot on target. Sam hasn't had a difficult save to make and we created the best chance of the game. They were the defining moments of the game. That big save from their goalkeeper gave them the opportunity to win the game, for me.

Allardyce: We only have ourselves to blame

It's damaging because we play not to lose and we keep losing far too many. We've done our best to help the squad, we've done all we can do in terms of improving the squad. We should be sat here with three points, we shouldn't have lost it. But we only have ourselves to blame.

Sam Allardyce is here for his post-match presser

Two balls in our box we didn't defend properly, two scruffy goals that could have been avoided. A lot of what we've been talking about happened again tonight. They were just about to bring Billy off and the next moment he scored a goal. But the biggest moment in the game was the save from Ramsdale, we'd have been 2-1 up and with our defensive frailties we might not have won the game but I don't think we'd have lost it, and that was the defining moment for us in the game.

Sheffield United have beaten WBA and this is a huge, HUGE win for the Blades. The boost this will give the team can’t be underestimated. While all the plaudits will rightly go to Billy Sharp for his winning goal, don’t forget about that incredible save from Aaron Ramsdale earlier in the second half.

Stand by for reaction from Chris Wilder

And they are going to lump this right in

That’s how much time there will be added on. And we are in it
