Sheffield United 2-2 Preston North End LIVE: Billy Sharp on target again but PNE snatch late draw

Hello and welcome to our LIVE blog bringing you the latest news from Bramall Lane as the Blades prepare to host Preston North End in their latest pre-season friendly.

The Gaffer’s transfer update...

and United are denied victory as Jayden Stockley rises highest to meet a good corner from the Preston left and heads home past Foderingham, with the ref blowing the whistle immediately after to signal the end of this friendly. Some good signs for the Blades as they sign off their pre-season campaign ahead of their opening Premier League fixture with Wolves - now the focus will be on incomings ahead of the start of the season for real

Decent save from Foderingham

as he denies Potts with his legs on the angle, after the ball broke fortuitously into his path - an important save as the clock ticks towards 90 minutes here at the Lane

Almost a spectacular own goal

as Jagielka took the ball off the head of Brad Potts in the middle before Baldock smashed the ball over his own crossbar under pressure from a Preston man, it can’t have been that far over the bar but United defend the corner easily enough and look to break themselves

Almost three for the Blades

as Ben Osborn smashes a shot with his left foot that bounces back off the woodwork, just on the angle of post and bar. Another clever dummy from Sharp gave him the opening after Slater’s pass across the face of goal, but only the post got in the way

The striker never really looked comfortable since taking that earlier blow and has now gone off, replaced by Hackford - a good chance to see him for 20 minutes or so

Another in pre-season for Billy...

Nasty one for Sinclair

as a shot rebounds off Jagielka and hits him in a place he probably would have least wanted to be hit, it absolutely floors him but he’s back on his feet now and walking very gingerly indeed

as Barkhuizen gets the better of Jagielka again and rolls the ball across goal to Johnson, but he fluffs his lines completely and the Blades breathe again
