Sheffield United v Spurs LIVE from the Lane

Last updated: Sunday, 17 January, 2021, 15:06

  • Blades make one change, Ben Osborn is out injured so Enda Stevens comes back in
  • George Baldock returns to the squad after injury, but there’s no place for Lys Mousset
  • Jose Mourinho makes three changes for Spurs: Rodon, Davies and Bergwijn IN, Sanchez, Sissoko and Winks OUT
  • Aurier put Spurs ahead inside the first few minutes
  • Harry Kane made it 2-0 in the first half
  • David McGoldrick got one back for the Blades
  • Ndombele made it 3-1 to Spurs soon after

and Spurs’ two-goal cushion is restored after a superb finish from Ndombele, who hooks the ball over his right shoulder with his right foot and into the far corner, past Ramsdale - a ridiculous finish from the Spurs man, to be fair, but that might also just knock the stuffing out of United

and McGoldrick strikes as the Blades get one back, heading home a superb cross from Fleck’s cross - he gets there in between Spurs’ centre halves and nods home, giving United a chance of getting something out of this game now

on his right foot, he looks to whip it in on his right foot but sets it too far outside the post and can’t bring it back enough

after another sloppy touch from Norwood surrenders possession too easily, Spurs break at pace and Kane looks to curl it home on his left foot but gets too much on it - a relief for United and for Norwood

as he takes down Bergwijn as a long kick from Lloris almost catches United out, from the resulting free-kick Kane has a go from long range but Ramsdale tips it over

as McGoldrick sends Burke free down the left wing and a good spell of play sees Stevens let fly, but it’s blocked and McGoldrick’s follow-up shot wins a corner - much more intensity to United’s play since the second half started

Bogle at the back post

gets above his marker to meet Stevens’ deep cross, but he doesn’t get it right and the header flies well over the bar

No changes at the break

Roy Keane scathing about United at half-time on Sky...

"I can’t believe what I’m watching and I can’t believe how bad they’ve been," said the pundit, which rather says it all…

and the Blades are two behind at the break, and all but out of this game judging by their goal return so far this season - it could have been more after Son hit the post and it looks like being another disappointing afternoon for the Blades this season.
