Sheffield United 1 Birmingham City 1: Managers' reaction as Blades and Blues share spoils
and live on Freeview channel 276
Oli McBurnie opened the scoring for the Blades in the second half but they were pinned back soon after by Troy Deeney’s equaliser.
Here’s the story of the game, with reaction from John Eustace and Paul Heckingbottom.
Blades v Birmingham
Good save Wes
as Deeney flicks on a free-kick and he doesn’t have a great deal of time to react with Hogan lurking but he saves and then holds on to it well
Good chance
as United break and Basham’s cross finds Ndiaye in the middle but he’s on the stretch and his header goes wide of goal
Half time
and a frustrating first45 in some ways for the Blades as they struggled to dominate stubborn opposition as they have at times this season, especially at home - the closest they’ve come is Doyle hitting the bar while they’ve not been troubled too much at the other end and will have hoped to have made more of all their possession in and around the Birmingham box, especially down the right where Basham and Baldock have been particularly involved
Nice move almost
sees Baldock open the scoring as Berge and Basham combine down the right, Basham cuts back to Baldock who sidefoots on target but Ruddy saves and then gobbles up the rebound
Just wide
from Berge as he lets fly on his left foot on the angle - it looks to be heading for the bottom corner but goes just, just, just wide of the post by what can’t have been an awful lot
OFF THE BAR
as Doyle looks to catch out Ruddy with a deep free-kick from near the left touchline, McAtee is ready to jump on him in celebration but it hits the top of the bar and goes over - what a moment of magic that would have been from the City man
Yellow for Longelo
as he takes down Doyle as he looked to break on the halfway line, he can have no complaints about that one
Superb defending from Norrington-Davies
at the other end prevents Chong making it 1-0 as he gets a bit of space in the box, but RND gets across to block it superbly
