Revealed: How much Sheffield United have spent in agent fees

Sheffield United paid more than £7m to agents during a 12 month period ending in February this year, according to figures released by the Football Association.

The exact sum, £7,081,018, placed them 16th on the list of the Premier League’s 20 clubs, with only Burnley, Crystal Palace, Southampton and West Bromwich Albion handing over less to intermediaries.

This weekend’s opponents Leeds parted company with £7,034,943 according to figures released yesterday.

United, who travel to Elland Road without a permanent manager after parting company with Chris Wilder three weeks ago, broke their transfer record to sign Rhian Brewster from Liverpool at the beginning of a campaign which appears destined to end in relegation regardless of the result in West Yorkshire.

Former Derby County defenders Jayden Bogle and Max Lowe, Aaron Ramsdale, and Ismaila Coulibaly, now on loan at Beerschot, have also arrived at Bramall Lane during the summer window.
