'Ready for business' - What Chris Wilder said about prospect of signing a new striker before Sheffield United's clash with Aston Villa

Chris Wilder, the Sheffield United manager, does not expect to sign a new striker before his side travel to Aston Villa on Monday evening - despite insisting: "We're ready to do business".

The Blades boss has made a new forward his top priority to finalise his 2020/21 squad, after signing goalkeepers Aaron Ramsdale and Wes Foderingham, wing-backs Jayden Bogle and Max Lowe, Ethan Ampadu and Oli Burke during the summer.

Rhian Brewster, the England U21 international, remains his first-choice target, while an approach was recently made to Arsenal for their young attacker Folarin Balogun.

But Wilder isn't expecting any new blood ahead of Monday's trip to Villa Park.

"I think it'll be a struggle," Wilder admitted.

"But we're working away. Anything can drop pretty quickly and we're ready to do business, I doubt it'll happen before Monday, with the medical and bits of pieces needed, so it'll be doubtful to have anyone in the building for Villa Park."
