Ravel Morrison poised to swap Sheffield United for Middlesbrough

Sheffield United are poised to sanction Ravel Morrison’s move to Middlesbrough.

The midfielder is expected to join the Championship club on loan although officials at the Riverside are thought to have also considered the possibility of signing him on a permanent basis following a difficult start to life at Bramall Lane.

Morrison, aged 26, has made only four appearances since agreeing a one year contract with United in July.

The last of those came in the FA Cup earlier this month, when Chris Wilder’s side beat AFC Fylde in the third round.

After completing three deals since the beginning of the transfer window, including one for Norway midfielder Sander Berge, United also hope to confirm two more before tonight’s deadline.

Panagiotis Retsos, of Bayer Leverkusen and Greece, is undergoing the second half of his medical in South Yorkshire this morning while Richairo Zivkovic is also expected to arrive from Chinese club Changchun Yatai.
