'Proves you can achieve greatness' - Manchester City's Kyle Walker thanks Sheffield United's junior coaches after he wins 50th England cap

Goals from Marcus Rashford and Mason Mount saw England beat the No.1 ranked team in the world, who had earlier gone ahead through Romelu Lukaku, at Wembley.

The occasion was especially memorable for Sheffield-born Walker, who won his 50th cap lining up on the right of Gareth Southgate's three-man defence.

And the boyhood Blade, who came through the ranks at Bramall Lane before joining Tottenham Hotspur and later setting a world record with his £50m move to City, posted on Instagram: "I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has played a part in helping me get to 50 caps for my country, something I am so proud to have achieved.

"From my youth coaches at Sheffield United, my loan spells at Northampton Town, QPR and Aston Villa, my time at Tottenham Hotspur and now at Man City.

"Also thank you to the managers who I have played under for England, Fabio Capello, Sam Allardyce, Roy Hodgson and now Gareth Southgate.

"A final thanks to my family, who have supported me through thick and thin. I never thought coming from a council estate in Sheffield that I would represent my country once, never mind fifty times.

"It is a great honour for me to have achieved this and hopefully many more to come.

"It proves, once you put your mind to anything, you can achieve greatness."
