Shortly after the Blades had gone 1-0 down to West Brom at Bramall Lane in their basement battle, wing back George Baldock pulled up and immediately signalled to the bench.

The 27-year-old was clutching his hamstring and after receiving treatment had to come off just before half time and was replaced by Max Lowe.

A hamstring injury would normally take 4-6 weeks to recover from, depending on how serious it is.

Jayden Bogle, who had been playing in an unfamiliar role again, on the left wing-back position, switched flanks to allow Lowe to go onto the left.

It’s another potential blow for Blades boss Chris Wilder who has seen a huge number of his squad miss stages of the season for various injuries, notably Jack O’Connell who is likely to miss the entire campaign after undergoing a knee operation.
