The versatile left-sided Osborn, who signed last summer from Championship outfit Nottingham Forest, and Norwegian midfielder Sander Berge come in for John Lundstram, who injured an arm against Arsenal, and John Fleck respectively. Fleck is understood to have hurt a groin.

There is still no Jack O’Connell and Luke Freeman isn’t in the squad, with United naming just seven substitutes for tonight’s clash with Jose Mourinho’s side.

Here’s what Blades fans on Twitter make of tonight’s team selection.

@cuttinedgeblade No Fleck, Lundstram or Luke Freeman in the squad. Jack still not fit. Is it just me that fancies us to get something tonight still..? #sufc #twitterblades

@Drury94 Poor we can't fill a bench at this level, it's no ones fault but still shows a lack of depth #sufc #twitterblades

@DavidMckenzie89 No Fleck, L Freeman or Lunny and only seven on the bench. Must be a few injuries knocking about, can't say I'm overly confident! Love to be proved wrong! #sufc #twitterblades

@CDNY00 Baldock and Stevens better put a shift in tonight

@SufcLife No midfield cover on the bench, gonna be a struggle in there tonight

@DaveMcKFlit Only seven Subs? I’m now regretting giving my boots away. I might have been in line for a call up by the weekend

@jonathan_wrong Missing Jack O’Connell still, but I’m optimistic. Show the same bright sparks as against Arsenal and this game is winnable. UTB

@oily_sph1nx Could have been the game to try McGoldrick behind the two strikers with Berge and Norwood sitting in, but in Wilder we trust

@drsevers Real chance for @OsbornOn1 to make an impression tonight #sufc #twitterblades

@cheetham_james The last time Osborn and McGoldrick started a game, we scored within a couple of minutes of kick-off . . .

@AlexJamesCook_ Seems like Besic not getting extended may bite us in the a**e
