The Blades can reach the quarter-finals of the FA Cup with victory in tonight's fifth-round tie at Reading, while they could still yet qualify for Europe despite only being promoted to the Premier League last season.

And the utility man, signed in the summer from Nottingham Forest, admitted of United's fight for glory on both fronts: "It’s exciting but it all starts tonight, really.

"We've got to take our chance to go into the last eight, and kick on in the league. It's a huge week for us and a chance we can take hopefully. I'm really looking forward to it."

Osborn could make his latest appearance for United at the Madejski, if Enda Stevens fails to recover from the calf complaint that saw him taken off at half-time of United's draw with Brighton last weekend.

Osborn replaced Stevens at the interval and impressed.

"It took a bit of time to get used to the speed of the game and then I felt comfortable," Osborn added.

"I felt we played some nice stuff. I always try to have the mindset that I could be playing, so I've got to prepare right and take the chance.

"I can’t let anyone down especially when we're trying to push for other things but also it's important to make sure I'm enjoying it. I dreamed of playing in the Premier League and it's good to be out there."
