Newcastle v Blades LIVE
That’s full-time
and it’s another defeat of a season full of them for the Blades as they lost 1-0 in the north-east. Joe Willock’s header on the stroke of half-time proving enough - United didn’t really look like getting back into it despite the odd chance, and it’s a 29th defeat of the season for the Blades - a joint-record for the most in a PL season. Stay with us for post-match reaction from both camps
Blades give a debut
to Femi Seriki down the right hand side, for his Premier League debut - it’ll only last a few minutes but what a moment for the young man
Norwood looks to curl
one into the top corner from distance after McGoldrick carried the ball forward and teed him up, but he can’t get it on target
United throwing caution to
the wind here, leaving one defender back as they throw everyone else forward in search of an equaliser - there’ll be FIVE minutes of injury time for them to find it, too
Newcastle sub
sees Joe Willock replaced by Andy Carroll, who I’m sure scored the winner for Newcastle at Bramall Lane about 125 years ago - seems to have been around forever. Five minutes of normal time left for the Blades to get back into this game
Dubravka looks okay
to carry on after taking some treatment - although he’s still feeling his hamstring as he booted that ball long downfield
United keeping the pressure on
as Newcastle camp in their own half as we approach the 80-minute mark, but McGoldrick didn’t read Fleck’s pass and Newcastle have a chance to relieve some pressure - now their goalkeeper is down injured and will take some treatment. Newcastle’s medical staff have certainly had their work cut out tonight
McGoldrick off the bar!
What an effort that was as he skips outside his man and looks to find the top corner from long range, Dubravka is nowhere near it but it clips off the bar and goes over
Another break in play
as Willock goes down this time, moments earlier Bogle looked to break down the right but a breakdown in communication with Jebbison saw the chance go begging - before the ref brought the play back for a Blades free-kick after Ritchie had a nibble at Bogle
