Newcastle boss Steve Bruce could make FOUR changes against Sheffield United
Steve Bruce has admitted he may change his side for Thursday night’s Premier League clash against Sheffield United.
The Magpies produced a great display to hold champions Manchester City to a 2-2 draw on Saturday but Bruce may still freshen his side up for the trip to Bramall Lane.
He said: “I’m already thinking of changes. That’s something I also believe we will have to do in January because of the amount of games we have to play.”
Winger Allan Saint-Maximin is an injury doubt after coming off against City with Christian Atsu, who set up Jonjo Shelvey’s equaliser, a potential replacement.
Dwight Gayle is also pushing for a start up front ahead of £40million striker Joelinton, who has only scored once this season, while Bruce could freshen up his midfield by starting Sean Longstaff. DeAndre Yedlin could return at right wing-back ahead of Javier Manquillo if he shakes off a hip injury.
