Sheffield United boss Nigel Clough insists he was pleased with the contribution of Steven Davies on Saturday, as the on-loan Blackpool man made his Blades debut against Fleetwood Town.
Despite United slipping to a disappointing 2-1 defeat, Clough believes Davies showed exactly why he pursued the 27-year-old striker for so long: “Steven made a pleasing contribution,” Clough said. “He looked bright and tried to lead the line and link up play through the middle when possible. We’ve chased Steven for a while because we know his talents. He did well with Matty Done and there’s plenty more to come.”
