Sheffield United can inch towards securing a place in the play offs with victory over doomed Yeovil Town at Huish Park tonight. However, now under the stewardship of ex-Owls boss Paul Sturrock, the Blades will know they won;t get an easy time
Yeovil: Krysiak, Smith, Arthurworrey, Webster, Shephard, Kingsley, Berrett, Foley, Grant, Hayter, Ugwu.
Sheffield United: Howard, Freeman, Brayford, Basham, Harris, Flynn, Doyle, Coutts, Done, Holt, Davies.
PLAYER TO WATCH
Perhaps unsurprisingly for a team relegated with a goal difference currently standing at -36, Yeovil have found goals hard to come by this season. James Hayter, a player well known to fans in this region from his time at Doncaster Rovers, hasn’t been able to fire the Glovers to safety but has two in his last four games and is sure to provide a stern test to United’s makeshift backline which could be without Jay McEveley, Terry Kennedy and Bob Harris through injury.
Sheffield United and Yeovil Town have only met seven times in history, and United are well ahead in the head-to-head stats, with five wins. Interestingly, there has never been a draw between these two sides. One of Yeovil’s two victories over United was perhaps the most vital, however - the second leg of their play-off semi-final in 2013, the year they won promotion to the Championship. Yeovil face United having won just one of their last 13 games this season.
MAN IN THE MIDDLE
Tim Robinson - Robinson takes charge of his 29th match this season tonight, and has so far handed out 115 cautions - an average of just over four per game. He refereed at Bramall Lane last season when United beat Port Vale 2-1, and sent off Vale’s Daniel Jones - formerly of Sheffield Wednesday and now of Chesterfield.
