Mark Lawrenson reveals why he's tipped Sheffield United to lose AGAIN ahead of Bournemouth clash

Sheffield United take on Bournemouth in their last match before their winter break this weekend, and Chris Wilder's side have an excellent opportunity to consolidate their push for European football qualification with a win against the south coast side.

This week, in his piece for BBC Sport, Mark Lawrenson – who has tipped the Blades to win less than a quarter of their Premier League games this season – has again backed Wilder's men to slip up, this time opting for a 2-1 victory for the visitors.

Explaining his choice, Lawro said: "Bournemouth have now won two (league) games in a row, and against the teams around them in the table too - Aston Villa and Brighton.

"We have seen them do something similar before, where they end a bad spell by going on a great run, and I can see it continuing here."

"Sheffield United are still ticking along nicely of course, but I always feel they are better on the road and their record backs that up - the Blades have picked up more points away from Bramall Lane this season.

He concluded: "The goals have started to flow a little bit for the Cherries, so I am going to go for a bit of a surprise here, and back Bournemouth for the win."

Meanwhile, his opponent for the week, British snowboarding sensation Katie Ormerod, backed the Blades to secure a tight 1-0 victory.

Last time the two sides met, it was the opening day of the 2019/20 Premier League campaign, and the Blades rescued a dramatic late draw as Billy Sharp bundled in an 88th minute equaliser.

The Cherries haven't visited Bramall Lane since 2012, back when both sides were in League One. United were victorious on that occasion, picking up a 5-3 win in an enthralling contest.
