Writing in his weekly predictions column for BBC Sport, pundit Mark Lawrenson backed the Eagles to win 2-1.

Justifying his prediction, the ex-Liverpool defender claimed: "Palace stopped the rot with their draw against Leicester. They went back to their old ways of being a bit more pragmatic, which I always thought they would do.

"Sheffield United's wait for a first win of the season goes on, though, and it gets harder and harder to make a case for them to stay up."

Meanwhile, Lawro's opponent for the midweek fixtures, The Farm front-man Peter Hooton, opted for a 3-0 Palace victory.

Last time the two sides met, back in February last year, the Blades completed the double over the Eagles with a 1-0 win at Selhurst Park, with a goalkeeper Vicente Guaita's blunder gifting Chris Wilder's side the three points.
