The Blades are rock bottom of the Premier League table with relegation already confirmed, but a couple of wins from their last four games would do the side's confidence the world of good ahead of next season's Championship campaign.

Writing in his weekly predictions piece for BBC Sport, Mark Lawrenson turned his attention to United's clash against the Eagles, opted for a 1-0 Palace win.

Justifying his prediction, the ex-Liverpool star claimed: “Crystal Palace got taken apart by Manchester City in the second half last weekend, and the Eagles have now lost their past three games.

“I think that losing run ends at Bramall Lane, although I am not expecting a classic.”

Meanwhile, Lawro's sparring partner for the week, The Sherlocks drummer and Sheffield Wednesday fan Brandon Cook, backed Palace to win 2-0, and claimed: “Sheffield United have been awful all season, I think the other managers figured them out this time. There was no chance I was ever going to be a Blade - it was always Wednesday for me.“I started off going to Hillsborough with my uncle when I was a kid and I buzzed off it. I've always loved going to watch us no matter how the team is doing - it's class, isn't it, with everyone singing tunes and getting your chips and curry before the match. It's what football is about.”
