Writing in his weekly predictions column for BBC Sport, pundit Mark Lawrenson backed a 2-0 win for the hosts.

Explaining his prediction, the ex-Liverpool defender contended: "Brighton's big problem is still goals, but their levels never seem to change too much. They never seem to play that badly, whatever the result.

"Sheffield United have bigger issues. I've said it before this season, but they look like a Championship team in the Premier League, and it is hard to see what their manager Chris Wilder can do about that."

Meanwhile, Lawro's opponent for the midweek fixtures, singer-songwriter Becky Hill, opted for a 1-0 Brighton victory.

Last time the two sides met, back in February, they played out a 1-1 draw at Bramall Lane, as Blades ace Enda Stevens' goal was cancelled out by Neal Maupay midway through the first half.
