According to reports in the North-West, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer views the compromise as the perfect solution to a problem created by both the 23-year’s rapid progress in the Premier League this term and David de Gea’s continued presence in his squad.
Solskjaer recently described de Gea, who is thought to earn around £350,000 a week, as the world’s best goalkeeper despite a series of indifferent performances. But Henderson has made it plain he does not want to spend next term as the Spaniard’s deputy, preferring to play regular first team football instead as part of his plan to become England’s first choice goalkeeper.

So, in order to buy himself time, Solskjaer is believed to be ready to instruct his employers to reassure Henderson of his status at Manchester United by allowing him to plot the latest phase of his career providing he puts pen to paper on a new and improved deal.
Chris Wulder, Solskjaer’s opposite number at Bramall Lane, has already confirmed he wants to renew Henderson’s loan with United for a second time after watching him help the South Yorkshire club climb to seventh in the table before competition was suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Henderson was also a member of the squad which gained promotion from the Championship last season, having spend the previous campaign on loan with Shrewsbury Town.
