The Frenchman made his long-awaited return to the Blades squad for Saturday's trip to West Brom, but couldn't make the difference coming off the bench as Wilder's men slipped to a 1-0 defeat.

That result left them stranded at the bottom of the Premier League table, still searching for their first win of the campaign.

But Mousset, who came off the bench at The Hawthorns, believes United will have the last laugh this season.

Posting on Instagram, the former Bournemouth striker said: "Disappointed about the result... but when you gonna understand ... we gonna laugh.

"Too many people are talking s*** about as I like - it is making [us] strong."

Mousset was described as a "game-changer" by boss Wilder on the eve of the trip to West Brom. He finished as United's joint-top goalscorer last season despite his season being disrupted by fitness and personal issues.
