Jurgen Klopp’s reaction from Anfield

Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool on wrong end of ANOTHER bad VAR call in victory over Sheffield United

Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool were on the wrong end of a poor VAR decision once again this evening as his side beat Sheffield United 2-1 at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp’s reaction

The penalty gave Sheffield a boost, they couldn't get at us before then with all the quality they have. We lost patience, we scored in our best attack and adjusted a few things at half time. They had their moments but we defended well with a good heart and I'm delighted.

Wilder’s disappointment tonight

They did have more of the ball but I didn't think it was one-way traffic, and that was the ultimate disappointment tonight. It was a better display than when we came here last year.

‘It’s a cruel division'

The timing of the first goal was disappointing, we could have done better with that one and certainly with the second. We got into some fabulous positions, they found that final bit of quality and we didn't. We didn't have the white flag up but it's a cruel division.

Chris Wilder’s post-match reaction

I thought the performance was good. It had to be to have any chance of getting anything from the game, and I thought we had a chance. We have a lot of disappointed boys in our changing room. We had to be good, otherwise you can get done three, four or five.

and it’s defeat for the Blades at Anfield, but they sure made the champions work for their three points after going ahead early in the game and they certainly posed an offensive threat of their own at times. It was the first time this season they led in a game but they couldn’t hang on, and lose their fifth game in six this season. Stay tuned for Chris Wilder’s reaction from Anfield.

with about 90 seconds left as McBurnie flicks it into his path and he looks to curl it into the top corner, but he gets it badly wrong and it goes well wide of Alisson’s goal - would he have been better just looking to smash that and get it on target? We’ll never know…

The big man sees yellow for a challenge on Wijnaldum in the middle of the park, he’s been otherwise outstanding once again in the green and the gold

That could have been the game as Salah runs free, he looks to dink it over Ramsdale but it bounces off the post and into the grateful grasp of Ramsdale

but Fabinho snuffs out the danger, it was a lovely touch from the defender to open up his body and fashion the chance. At the other end Jota looked to break but was denied by a superb challenge from Stevens
