Rodgers on ‘outstanding’ Foxes performance
Brendan RodgersAn outstanding team performance, that was us back for 90 minutes. There were questions about us tonight and we had to respond. We looked really creative and had the courage to play how we play, and then had to defend well. We created more opportunities in the second half and could have scored more than two.
Rodgers ‘delighted’ with his side’s display
Brendan RodgersSheffield United's form, on the back of a 3-0 against Chelsea and beating Spurs, they came into the game with an extra day of recovery and have been outstanding this season, so we knew we had to perform and we produced a consistent performance. We've played well in sections of games but knew we had to respond in arguably the toughest game we could have had. I'm delighted with how we responded.
And that’s it . . .
A strangely below par performance by United as their bid for European football suffers a setback on the road as they lose 2-0 at Leicester. Perez and Gray with the goals that down the Blades.
Drilled crossed by McBurnie
Bennett puts the ball behind after a ball drilled into the box by McBurnie. It was good job he was there for the hosts with Mousset waiting to pounce inside the six-yard box.
2-0 Leicester
Substitute Gray makes it two with a cool finish to slot the ball home past Henderson after a pinpoint cross the box from Vardy following a superb defence splitting ball out from the back by Evans. Tough ask for United to come back now with little more than 10 minutes to go here at the King Power.
