United battled with ten men following Che Adams’ sending off, to beat Oldham Athletic 1-0 in the FA Cup at Bramall Lane last Saturday and, previous to that, looked to be heading for a hard-fought victory over Barnsley before being stung by a very late equaliser at Oakwell.

Some fans have been vocal in their questioning of United players’ passion and determination in what has generally been a disappointing campaign thus far, with Nigel Adkins’ side 12th in League One.

However, ahead of United’s televised clash with second-placed Coventry City at Bramall Lane on Sunday (12.00 kick-off), Done insists that all of the squad are fighting for each other, in a steadfast bid to get their season back on track.

“I think it (the togetherness) has been there since the start of the season, if I’m being honest,” he said. “Performances may not have suggested that but ...

“The game at Oakwell was a real kick in the teeth for the lads because we thought we really worked our nuts off to get the win at Barnsley.

“There’s no worse way of drawing a game or losing a game than in the 95th minute.

“So we thought that was going to be our changing point of the season when we put in a really good solid performance - we didnt get it

“But the Oldham match backs it up that the lads are tight and they are willing to work their socks off to get that result.”
