Bob Harris could benefit from the shift to Sunday of Sheffield United's clash with Coventry City as he recovers from a concussion.

Blades boss Nigel Adkins revealed the defender is progressing well after suffering a blow to the head in the FA Cup clash with Oldham Athletic last weekend.

And Adkins says the extra day this weekend could play in Harris' favour as he looks to return to the side against the Sky Blues.

"If it was Saturday he wouldn't be able to play but Sunday gives him that extra day," Adkins said. "He's progressing well.

"Bob is following the protocol. He went off on the stretcher last weekend, got well looked after by the medical staff at the club and had all the due care and attention at the Northern General.

"He's following the protocol to return to play and if he comes through that fine he should be in contention to play on Sunday."

Jamal Campbell Ryce could return after suffering a hamstring injury at Barnsley a fortnight ago while David Edgar has trained this week and could make his first appearance since the defeat to Shrewsbury Town last month.

Adkins said: "The lads are putting themselves forward so it's good.

"Obviously I've got to make the right calls for the weekend.

"The mindset is to win the game of football.

"It's going to be a good game. Coventry are a good side. Tony Mowbray has got them playing good football."
