But how did United's players fare? One of our men at the game gives his player ratings. Let us know if you agree or not in the comments below.

Made a good early save to deny Hernandez down to his left but was left horribly exposed for Hernandez's goal, and then had little chance with Pukki's second when the ball took a bobble and flicked into the very corner of the net
An absolute bundle of energy, Baldock never stopped running and had a few moments of quality, too. Enjoyed a rare early chance too when a cross from the left found its way to him, but he couldn't quite take advantage

A warrior. Put everything he had into the game and linked up well with Baldock down the right on occasions, as well as giving United a physical threat when the time came to play the diagonal ball. Picked up a booking for the most professional of fouls on Pukki
Colossal. Didn't have the easiest of times in the first half in my view, but in the second he was exceptional, dealing well with every threat thrown at him. Went close at the other end a couple of times, too, but couldn't get his header on target
Ran himself into the ground for the cause and unsurprisingly suffered with cramp late in the game. Has quality in his left foot and won the penalty which saw United equalise after he drew the foul from Buendia
An intelligent run and pull-back early in the game found Madine but the striker's shot was blocked. Dealt well with a lively Norwich front line, including a superb bit of defending to shepherd the ball out from the lively Stiepermann
Carried the ball confidently early on and had a few bright moments but struggled to really impact the game in the way he, and one suspects Chris Wilder, would have liked. Taken off around the hour mark for Mark Duffy
At times, back to his brilliant best as he drove United forward and looked to keep them ticking over. Caused uproar inside Carrow Road with a thunderous first-half challenge but showed both sides of his game here. Curled a second-half effort just wide
Wasn't given enough time or space by the Norwich midfield to dictate games as he normally does, but still put a real shift in - including a towering defensive header from a corner as Norwich pressed for a late winner. Still pinged some beautiful balls around the field
Replaced Dowell with around half an hour to go and gave United a dimension they'd maybe been lacking previously. Set up Sharp's second with a peach of a cross and laid on two big chances for David McGoldrick too.
An impressive full debut from the Cardiff loanee, who won absolutely everything thrown his way in the air and also showed he has some skills on the deck, too. Had one good chance blocked after O'Connell's cut-back and drew a good save from Krul before going off.
Billy Sharp scores goals. A well-struck penalty in hostile atmosphere, and then a poacher's second from a peach of a cross from Mark Duffy. Also hit the bar early in the second half and showed his value at Championship level as he moved to 18 league goals by the end of January
Took a lot of stick from the vocal corner of Carrow Road during his warm-up, the fans not forgetting his long stint with City's big rivals Ipswich. Was crowded out with a couple of chances and saw an intelligent flick blocked by a despairing Norwich defender
Replaced Sharp in injury time and helped United see out the game
