But how did United’s players fare? Our man at Molineux offers his player ratings from the game.
1. Dean Henderson 7
Good early save from Jiminez’s header will have felt nice as he returned to the field. Handling and kicking generally good and could do little to nothing about the goal | JPIMedia Photo: Simon Bellis
2. George Baldock 6
Got forward at will in the first half and was booked in the second, when Jota ran into him on the right wing. Perhaps fortunate not to see red when he brought down Jota again later in the game | PA (Press Association) Photo: Danny Lawson
3. Chris Basham 8
Showed great defensive instincts early on to get across and snuff out the danger and again at the back post, to deny Doherty a tap-in. Then did so two or three times more in the second half. A superb display. | Getty Images Photo: Nathan Stirk
4. John Egan 8
Returned to the United side after missing the Manchester United game and looked like he’d never been away. One challenge to deny Jimenez was a thing of real beauty. Booked late on | JPIMedia Photo: Simon Bellis
