As revealed last month, United have had on trial former Leeds United starlet Connor Leak-Blunt and the young player has confirmed that as a success as he confirmed his signing a contract at Shirecliffe.

Posting on twitter, Leak-Blunt said: "Delighted to have signed for Sheffield United. Looking forward to the challenge ahead!"

The midfielder had been highly thought of at Leeds United and had signed a three-year contract at Elland Road in the summer, however, circumstances have changed and he has left in an attempt to build his career in South Yorkshire.

As for first team matters, Chris Wilder says United fans might have to be patient if they are hoping for new signings this month.

He said: "I'm absolutely battering (head of recruitment) Paul Mitchell at the minute. Every couple of hours I'm asking: 'Is anything happening? Are we moving on anything?'.

"He would if he could, but the majority of the time it's patience and waiting and that's what we have to do.

"We've put a lot of work into this window. It's an important window for us, with the 'outs' just as much as the 'ins', to get that balance right.

"We're working very hard and I'm sure when Paul has some news for me, then we'll move on that.

"I'm quite impatient, but sometimes other people aren't as quick to do the deals as maybe I am."
