Sheffield United have a decision to make over transfer target

Although United have understandably refused to confirm how much money has been placed at his disposal ahead of the forthcoming deadline, it has been suggested in some circles that Anderlecht’s valuation could exceed Wilder’s budget; something which could be behind their decision to explore the possibility of entering the loan market.

Woolfenden, aged 21, is likely to be attainable should United decide to consolidate their interest.

Despite being well-placed to win promotion from League One, Lambert has admitted Town will be forced to consider offers for their best young players providing any money raised is ploughed back into recruitment.

Flynn Downes, Woolfenden’s colleague at Portman Road, has also caught the eye of Championship and top-flight clubs.

Cobbaut, 11 months Woolfenden’s senior, started Anderlecht’s draw with Antwerp ahead of the Jupiler Pro League’s winter break.
