The Blades will host National League promotion hopefuls AFC Fylde as they enter the competition with the tie set to be played on the weekend of January 4.

United will be hoping to avoid the same fate as last term when they were beaten 1-0 by Barnet – also of the National League – at Bramall Lane at the third round stage.

Fylde are managed by Jim Bentley, who left League Two side Morecambe to take the role last month.

The Lancashire side reached the National League play-off final last term, losing 3-0 to Salford City at Wembley but beat Leyton Orient to win the FA Trophy a week later.

Their start to this season has been slow however, with seven wins from their opening 22 matches, leaving them 18th in the table.

Fylde booked their place in the third round with a 2-0 win at Kingstonian last weekend.
