United’s record signing Oli McBurnie scored the visitors’ goal, while the hosts fielded over £130m worth of players – including Alexis Sanchez, who is believed to earn around £350,000 a week at Old Trafford.

United fielded new arrival Mo Besic in midfield while Phil Jagielka and Ravel Morrison, the former Red Devils youngster, also featured. Kieron Freeman, Lys Mousset and Ben Osborn are also believed to have played for United.

Andreas Pereira, Mason Greenwood and Angel Gomes scored the home side’s goals.

Morrison posted a photograph of himself with United’s Paul Pogba on Instagram. The pair were teammates in the Old Trafford academy, and played against United in the final of the FA Youth Cup in 2011.

Simon Moore and Billy Sharp were later pictured at Highbury, cheering on their old teammate Paul Coutts - who captained Fleetwood Town in their 1-1 draw against Wycombe.
